Basic and Advanced Searching
Each category's search page provide Basic and Advanced searches.
Basic Provides a quick and simple search for documents and images from among all Document Types in a Category.

Advanced  Provides more search fields to search for documents and images for a specific Document Type.

"ANY", "ALL" Searching
By default, all Advanced Searches use ALL (and)  searching to search for results containing any (one or more) of the search field values you enter.
You can change your search to use ANY (or)  searching to search for results which contain any (one or more) of the search fields you enter.
For example: if you enter a TRS and a Surveyor, ALL searching will be for records which have both the entered TRS AND the Surveyor. With ANY searching records which have either the TRS OR the Surveyor would be included in the results.

Wildcard Searching
All searches use wildcard searching automatically where appropriate. Example: if you enter the road name "River", a search will find all road records with start "River", such as "River Road", "River Loop", "River Bend".
Some fields require an exact match and will require you to enter the full text to search on, Example: a Year search field does not permit a partial, wildcard search.

Input Errors
A search page will inform you if incomplete or incorrect information was entered by displaying the entry error beside the search field. Example Map Name Required.
